Chai Blend

More than just a tea.

My chai blend experimentation began a few years ago. My nervous system was wrecked, and I was drinking 3–5 cups of coffee a day. Constantly tired, constantly drained, constantly jittery from all of the Nespressos, Petes, Starbucks, you name it,  I would drink to start my day and to sustain me throughout it.

Coffee began to have little to no effect on me. Sure, it got me going and anxious, but it didn’t give me that joyful feeling I used to get. It also began hurting my tummy. The acidity was just too much every day. It was uncomfortable, to say the least.

The straw that broke the camel’s back

was my nervous system. I began to notice how irritable coffee made me. Every morning I would wake up fine, if anything, happy to wake up next to my partner and my doggie, Mango. But then I would reach for my Nespresso machine, froth my almond milk, take a sip or two, and 10–15 minutes later I was yelling at the dog, telling my partner to leave me alone, feeling this need to rush and panic for no good reason.

So I began to experiment.

What if I didn’t have coffee?

What else would feel fun, yet wouldn’t destroy my relationships or my mornings?

Chai blends were my way out of the coffee game. I loved the cloves, the ginger, and the spices. I loved adding almond milk and honey and, when needed, a little hit of instant coffee.

I also began to realize how healing these blends were for my tummy. My acidity went down, I wasn’t in constant pain, and overall I felt so much better.

Now with my newfound routine, it’s added a more intentional moment to my day. A slower start rather than a full steam-ahead kind of feeling. I’m not so anxious to start my day anymore. I get to sip my tea slowly, feel the herbs do their magik on my tummy, and gently ease into my morning.

(My dog and partner are both advocates for the effects it’s had on my moods in the morning.)

Rootz & Ritual Chai Blend: What makes yours different?

Our Chai Blend

Our chai blend is crafted with a thoughtful selection of spices and botanicals that not only create a rich, comforting flavor but also offer supportive wellness benefits.

Anise Seeds
These botanical gems bring a subtle sweetness and that classic licorice-like flavor. Personally, I’m not the biggest licorice fan, but I love what anise seeds bring to this blend. They contain iron and manganese, which support metabolism and bone health. One of the main reasons I chose anise seeds is for its soothing effect on digestion. It can help reduce gas, bloating, and indigestion, while also supporting different times of a moon cycle, like cramping, hot flashes, and overall just helps with mood balance.

Cardamom
One of my absolute favorite spices and a staple in a Chai Blend, is cardamom helps stimulate digestive enzymes and supports relief from gas, bloating, and stomach discomfort. It's also known for its antioxidant properties and naturally high potassium content, which may help relax blood vessels and support healthy circulation.

Cinnamon
Everyone’s favorite. Cinnamon is loved for more than just its warm, cozy flavor. It supports heart health, helps with blood sugar balance (making this blend especially lovely in the morning), and offers anti-inflammatory benefits.

Clove
Clove might just be my ultimate favorite. Thanks to its natural compound called eugenol, cloves are known for their gentle numbing effect and have long been used as a natural pain reliever. We use a lot of cloves in our blendz, so your mouth may feel a little funny, but DON’T BE ALARMED! Its the eugenol workings its magik. Cloves are known to reduce inflammation, soothe an upset stomach, and support digestive health. Clove is also traditionally valued for its antimicrobial and cleansing properties, making it a wonderful addition to a gut-supportive blend.

Ginger
This spicy babe brings warmth and vitality to every cup. Ginger is well known for supporting the stomach lining, calming upset stomachs, easing nausea, and helping reduce inflammation. It may also support healthy blood sugar levels, making it one of the most beloved digestive allies.

Rose Petals
Something you don’t typically see in a traditional Chai Blend is Rose petals. Rose petals add a softness, an ease, and a gentle kiss of sweetness that’s so subtle you almost don’t notice it. Beyond their beauty, rose petals are rich in antioxidants and have traditionally been used to support digestion, skin health, and womb wellness, especially during your menstrual cycle.

I hope when you make this blend, you feel the warmth, the nutrients, and the love poured into every bag.

Cheers to a calmer, more nourished nervous system & happy tummies!

Disclaimers:

  • This blend was created as a spiritual and intentional daily ritual, not as medical advice or treatment.

  • Natural Pain Relief
Cloves contain a powerful compound called eugenol, which is known for its natural numbing properties. Eugenol can help block pain receptors and temporarily numb tissue, which is why it has been widely used in dentistry and in many over-the-counter toothache remedies. Because eugenol occurs naturally in cloves, you may notice a gentle numbing sensation in your mouth while sipping this blend.
